A Comparative Study on Physiques and Maximum Growth Age of Youth Among Korea, Republic of China and Japan in 1989

Abstract
|
|
|
On the basis of the presented data which took boy and girl students and their subjects in Korea, Japan and Republic of China in 1989, the authors intended to compare´ and analyze the physique-growths ( body height, body weight, chest-girth, sitting height ´) and maximum growth age of the three nations´ students in Korea, Republic of China and Japan.
The results are as follows =
A. Physical growth and development
1. Body height (cm)
In case of male students, Koreans are superior in their body heights to the Japanese when they are before the year 11. But from 11 to 16, both of nations´ students are the same. And then Chinese students are all inferior to those of Koreans and Japanese through all these ages.
In case of girl students, Koreans are taller than the Japanese and the Chinese through all these ages. The Chinese are inferior in their heights to Koreans and the Japanes through all these ages.
The interchange ages of the body height occurred in the both sexes of 9 - 12 in Koreans, 9 - 12 in the Chinese and 9 - 12 in the Japanese.
2. Body weight (kg)
In case of male, the Korean and Chinese students show a little lower´ derees than the Japanese. In case of female, they show the similar phenomena.
The interchange ages of the body weight occured in the both sexes of 10.5-13.0 in Koreans, 10 - 12 in the Chinese, and 10.0-12.5 in the Japanese.
3. Chest-girth (cm)
In case of male students, Koreans are superior in their body heights to the Japanese when they are between 11 and 16, but from 12 to 16, both of nations´ students are the same.
And then the Chinese are all inferior to those of Koreans and the Japanese through all these ages-
In case of girl students, Koreans are taller than the Japanese and Chinese through all these ages. The Chinese are inferior in their chest-girths=to Koreans and the Japanese through all these ages.

Comparison of growth ages of Koreans, the Chinese and the Japanese are as ´´follows: Koreans : Body height : Male 12.36, Female 10.23
Body weight ; Male 12.62, Female 11.30
Chest-girth ; Male 12.89, Female 11.25
Sithing height : Male 14.27, Female 10.44
Chinese : Body height ; Male 11. 69, Female 11.00
